How does one determine the market price of a film while packaging, i mean if I make the film for $10, I must have an apporximate idea of what it would be sold for, ie $15. But how can I tell that my film will fetch $15?? In the same context how can I determine what I should be paying an actor, based on the sales his / her name will trigger? Thanks, Anand varma

I know about sales projections, but that estimations should be known to a filmmaker before he comitts funds to making a film, so he knows that he is not paying too much and the film will not reap profitable benefits. The time lag between the funds comited by a producer and the funds received for sales seems to be a nebulous ocean of cicumstances. can anyone shed light on this..? Thanks, Anand Varma
