TIMELESS is a Time Travel thriller set in the bleak aftermath of terrorist attacks during the LONDON 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES. London has been destroyed by a series of Dirty Bombs, causing the majority of its Central Business District to be closed off for half a century. In addition, the economy has suffered, and London now stands as a shattered city.
The story follows the protagonist, JOHN WARREN, a troubled individual with a painful past. After the suicide of his sister, WARREN's life began a downward spiral into drug abuse and self destruction until he was taken under the wing of the questionable business man, SLOANE, for whom he now works. WARREN typically spends his days alone, indulging in a new kind of drug that he happened upon during a routine robbery; the drug seems to slow time down, turning minutes into ecstasy filled hours.
WARREN works as a hit-man, and operates with two rules: #1 - NO NAMES. #2 - NO WOMEN. One day, WARREN's world changes forever when SLOANE forces him to break his second rule, and shoot a woman. Soon after WARREN has compromised himself, he receives a phone call from an old school friend, informing him that their childhood friend, ANGEL, has been murdered. WARREN attends the funeral, only to realize that ANGEL is the woman he was asked to target. She was being sheltered by the witness protection program at the time.
Two questions then present themselves: why did SLOANE want ANGEL murdered, and why did he choose WARREN to carry out this act? Before WARREN has a chance to find out, he is attacked in his apartment by two unidentified assailants; the ensuing fight ends with his attackers plunging a needle of the new drug into his heart. This action has unexpected consequences, as the drug causes WARREN to awaken two years in the past. WARREN is then able to track down ANGEL, and begins to fall in love with her. But his trip back in time lasts only as long as the drug remains in his system, and he eventually wakes back up in the present, unsure of what he has just experienced.
What then begins is a race against time. WARREN begins to use the drug to go back and stop the series of events leading to ANGEL's death; but in doing so, causes severe damage to his body. There will only be a limited number of times WARREN can go back before he ultimately kills himself.
With every trip back, SLOANE becomes more aware that a double of WARREN exists. A cat and mouse game then takes place, as SLOANE tries to understand who the double is, and what they want. A trap is laid for WARREN. And even as all of this unfolds, WARREN must face another, more terrible conundrum: is he truly going back in time, or is the drug simply causing him to lose his mind?
TIMELESS is a powerful love story about a man who becomes addicted to trying to save his soul-mate from himself.
