Synopsis

Pete Blaggit is one angry man. A wedding video guy for more than 20 years, he’s just about had enough of filming happy couples tying the knot. Blagmore Wedding Videos is no longer the successful company it once was, leaving Pete on a path of self-destruction. His brother Eugene and his protégé Clive help out with the wedding videos, but even they have had enough of Pete's behavior.

Angry and disillusioned with life, Pete totally destroys a wedding thanks to his uncontrollable temper - he's rude, loud and full of disrespect to anyone and everyone who gets in his way. A medicated pill-popping alcoholic, it seems that life can’t get much worse for Pete.

But it does.

Strange, unknown forces are occurring in Pete's life that he can't explain; visions and hallucinations that he can't shake off. Everything changes one night, when Pete is abducted and raped. By aliens.

Recovering from his alien rape, he and Clive head for the local casino; it's there where they meet an unusual Russian waiter by the name of Uri. Uri has a proposition for Pete and Clive that is just too good to refuse. But when Uri shows Pete a mind-blowing opportunity to put right his past wrongs, will Pete be able to turn his life around before it's too late?

A surreal comedy drama about one man's journey of self-discovery and redemption.

Pete's hit rock bottom. Now the only way is up.

" Surreal tragi-comedy is a genre that strikes me as one that would be very difficult to do well. So it is no small achievement that Whatever Happened to Pete Blaggit? is as good as it is – and the film is a very good one indeed. "

" "The best way to describe Whatever Happened to Pete Blaggit would be to say it’s as if Simon Pegg and Nick Frost made ‘Donnie Darko’ … a great and fun script, superb acting and an almost John Carpenter-esque score by Phil Mountford make the film a joy to "
